A Letter from the ZIPZERO Founders
Pinned FeaturedWe are excited to announce some changes that we hope will make it easier for our Users to make the most out of shopping with ZIPZERO and sharing receipt data – especially given the current cost-of-living crisis.
Last year, when we introduced changes to the app, the goal was to make sure ZIPZERO could survive the pandemic. This year, we’re announcing big changes to ensure that our USERS can get as much as possible from shopping with ZIPZERO and sharing their transaction data. Our focus is on helping you tackle the challenges of the crisis.
Here are the main changes included in the upcoming updates in November and December:
1. Base and Premium Units will no longer be linked!
Users will no longer need to earn Premium Units to release Base Units. The only requirement for the release of Base units is for the grace period to have passed (90 days). We can do this now that we have the opportunity to share anonymised shopping data with our third-party partners. Again, we are only going to be sharing anonymised data – with no personal details whatsoever.
2. Payout of old Base Units.
If you have any old pending base units accumulated in your ZIPZERO wallet, you can access them by keeping active in the app – i.e. shopping or scanning receipts regularly within the last six months. For users who stay active, we will release up to £10 from your pending balance on the 1st of each month – until the old base unit is depleted.
3. Simpler rewards for online shopping.
Users will be rewarded for ALL their online shopping receipts or confirmations – whether or not they are linked to a Premium online offer. In other words, you don’t have to click on the Premium link to get the minimum reward – although by clicking the link you are always scooping up the maximum reward for that retailer.
4. In-store Premium Rewards are launching!
The time has come! ZIPZERO is introducing in-store Premium shopping. You will be able to earn more than 0.5% from your shopping in brick-and-mortar stores – and yes, grocery shops will be included! We will also be adding new online partners with even better offers to our Premium Partners!
5. Base Rewards levels are changing.
When the update kicks in, we will differentiate rewards for the receipt and online confirmation sharing. There will be two types of rewards:
- You will get 0.5% as it is now for sharing receipts and online confirmations connected with shopping with our Premium Partners (both online and offline).
- You will get 0.1% (£0.01 in value as a minimum) for sharing receipts or online confirmations which have not come from shopping with our Premium Partners.
6. Closing inactive accounts.
Finally, we want to focus on new offers and truly active users, so we can provide them with the best rewards and support them in their journey to let their shopping pay their bills. So, we will be closing the accounts of all users who have not been active at least once in the past six months – on 30 November 2022. Users who want to maintain their accounts simply need to use the app in the next few weeks – to scan a receipt(s) or shop with our Premium Partners to earn cash to pay the bills!
Thank you for getting through this rather long update and we hope we have made our upcoming changes clear. We will be preparing and launching the updates over November and December, with regular email updates about each new feature as it comes.
As always we are here to listen to your comments and questions – stay in touch and let us know what you think and how we can continue to improve our service!
Stay safe!
Yours
